Tartar or calculus
Tartar or calculus are the names that describe the hard deposits left on the teeth when the plaque becomes mineralised. It has a dark yellow colour and is very adherent almost like cement on bricks, therefore making it irremovable even with your ordinary Tooth Brush.
Regular Scaling and polishing
Regular Scaling and polishing of your Teeth is highly recommended to maintain your healthy Teeth and Gums. The Scaling removes the Tartar build up and the polishing removes further stains on your Teeth caused by Tea, Coffee, Smoking and Foods. If your Oral Health is not maintained this may lead to Gum problems such as; Gum Recession and ultimately Periodontal Disease. Which may lead to loose teeth, with the possibility of loosing you teeth!.
